Amid the trade rumors that the Vancouver Canucks were highly interested in acquiring Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson, the d-mans comments about the Canucks have sparked some major controversy.

With the Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin looking to upgrade their top-4 defense, it was believed that Rasmus Andersson was one of the main names the team was interested in, but he made his thoughts clear about any chance of that happening.

In an interview with Sportsnet, Rasmus Andersson was asked about the potential idea of joining one of the Flames' Western Conference rivals and made his thoughts abundantly clear with some controversial comments.

"I hate the Oilers, I hate the Canucks and that's just the way I am." While Andersson admitted in the interview that he has little say on whether he is traded, he does hold a six-team no-trade clause, which could prevent the Flames from trading him to certain destinations.

His feeling may have been made clear, but the fact of the matter is, the 28-year-old d-man does not have any real say when it comes to the Calgary Flames trading him away this season, especially with one year left on his contract.

But, the one power he does have is that Andersson does have a 6-team no trade clause that is in effect, meaning that wither the Oilers or Canucks could easily be on that list.

Hopefully these comments do not make it too awkward for Andersson as he is set to play alongside fellow Swede and Canucks forward Elias Pettersson in the inaugural 4-Team faceoff.
