In the first three games of their opening-round series against the Nashville Predators, Pettersson only has one assist and three shots on goal. His recent play has begun to fuel speculation on whether Pettersson is dealing with an injury, but Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli has shot that down.
Seravalli was a guest on Sekeres and Price recently and was asked about Elias Pettersson and if he was dealing with an injury. Seravalli said that he hasn't heard anything regarding an injury to Elias Pettersson, and it appears his struggles are just a confidence issue right now.
While the Canucks have a 2-1 series lead over the Predators, they'll undoubtedly need Pettersson to get going quickly if they want to have further success against Nashville and in the second round if Vancouver is to advance.
Pettersson finished the regular season with 89 points (34 goals, 55 assists) in 82 games. At one point in the season, it appeared that Pettersson was on pace to hit the 100-point mark for the second consecutive year, but then he slowed down.
With Game 4 set for 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET, the Canucks are hoping Pettersson will have a big night and help them take a 3-1 series lead back to Vancouver on Tuesday night. Do you think Pettersson will score today for the Canucks? Let us know what you think in the poll below!
