LATEST | The first images of Phil Kessel's return released: It's concerning
Phil Kessel arrived in Vancouver earlier this week and yesterday, he finally stepped on the ice under the Canucks' colours.
The 36-year-old had the opportunity to join the young Abbotsford Canucks yesterday, but the first images suggest that Kessel had a hard time keeping up with the youngster's fast pace.
Here are the images that were released:
''Phil Kessel looking absolutely gassed at times during his first skate with the Abbotsford #Canucks. A conditioning stint is clearly warranted for the 36-year-old if he's going to play in the #NHL this year. More tonight at 6 on @CTVVancouver''
Even though Darren Dreger was ready to bet on the fact that Phil Kessel would be inking a deal with the Canucks. There haven't been any confirmation in that regard from either parties.
Playing for Rick Tocchet requires an elevated level of conditionning and he knows it, is he in Abbotsford to get back into game-shape? Or is it a test to see if he's still up to speed?
