We all know what happened at the NHL trade deadline was a disaster for the Vancouver Canucks, but a new report has emerged to reveal why General Manager Patrik Allvin refused to trade Brock Boeser amid a contract stalemate.

It was made known that the defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes were both highly interest is acquiring the talent of Brock Boeser at the trade deadline, but Patrik Allvin felt that return was not strong enough to make the deal.
Brock Boeser now remain apart of the organization for their hopful playoff run but could ultimately turn disastrous if the Canucks lose him during the offseason as his contract comes to an end.

Why the Vancouver Canucks refused to trade Brock Boeser at the deadline

Reports were released that Patrik Allvin was in search of a specific return for Boeser and was not going to compromise getting shafted by any other clubs.
NHL insider made it public that were not going to take anything less than a 1st-round pick for the former 40-goal scorer, saying they didn't get offered that, but that is actually not the case.
"The Vancouver Canucks indicated nothing less than a first-rounder for Boeser. They weren't taking anything less than a first-rounder and they didn't get it, so they decided to hold the player and we'll see where it goes from here."
Patrik Allvin straight up deceived the fan base when he stated the offers made for Boeser would shock everyone.
«If I told you what I was offered for Brock Boeser," said Allvin at his post-trade deadline press conference. "I think I would have to run out of here, because you would not believe me.

"If there wasn't any market value, I think that's up to the other teams [and] how they view our players.»

But in reality, Patrik Allvin did receive offers with more than what he asked for the 27-year-old, but ultimately decided to keep Boeser for the playoffs in hopes of remaining competitive in order give the best chances at winning the Stanley Cup.
The fact of the matter, Allvin made a mistake not making a deal as his contract expires on July 1st and they can easily lose him for nothing, but worst of all, he tried to be deceptive and lie on what the offers actually were, showing more issues are present than previously thought.
