Sherwood has been a hit machine this season, already quietly breaking NHL records in the category, and his pace is blowing every other competitor away.

Kiefer Sherwood to break record by season's end?
Sherwood has a serious shot at beating the NHL record for hits in a single season before the year ends, which Stats Muse says currently belongs to Robert Svehla with 386 hits in 2001-02.
Jeremy Lauzon, a teammate of Sherwood last season, narrowly missed the record last year posting 383 hits in 79 games.
If Sherwood didn't play another game this season, his 345 hits would be good for 14th all time in a single season.
With the Canucks having 19 more games to go, Sherwood would have to average just BARELY over two hits a game to break the record.
He's averaged nearly 6 per game this season.
