Thatcher Demko's injury has been one of the league's hottest subject since it was revealed that he wouldn't play another game in the first round. Everybody expected the Canucks to be a dominant force heading into this spring dance, but the loss of their starting netminder has definitely change the mood.

Nor the Canucks or Thatcher Demko himself have given a statement regarding the nature or the gravity of this injury. At this point, we know that he went through a series of MRIs and that he won't be apt to return until the later stages of the second round, if the team makes it there. Reports have came from everywhere suggesting that he might not play again this year, that he would be out for another four weeks at the very least and nobody seems to have the same intel.

As per his usual, the NHL insider Elliotte Friedman was on the NHL Headlines on Friday Night and delivered his first piece of intel on Thatcher Demko's injury:

@FriedgeHNIC provides the latest on Demko's injury.

Time will be of the essence here, running deep with Casey DeSmith isn't ideal. After the performance he pulled in game 3, it gave the Canucks and their fans lots of hope moving forward. It may not have been one of the Canucks' best games overall, but despite not having the upper hand on puck possession and shots, they managed to shut them down and get the greasy win. Those are the games that get your team to the next round.

Rick Tocchet has kept it quiet on the Demko front. To him, the week-to-week status hasn't changed, the last time Demko was out with a similar status. He got back only six weeks later.
