NHL to review Soucy's response to Connor McDavid's two-handed slash
The Vancouver Canucks took a thrilling Game 3 against the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night by a score of 4-3, chasing Stuart Skinner from the goal as he allowed four goals on just 15 shots. Carson Soucy and Connor McDavid were involved in some end-of-game exchanges as tensions rose.
McDavid, who was held pointless in his first playoff game since Game 3 against the Vegas Golden Knights from last season, was shoved my Nikita Zadorov and caught a high cross check from Soucy as he was falling down. This came in response to a two-handed slash attempt from the Oilers' captain.
The NHL announced that they would conduct a phone hearing with Carson Soucy:
Vancouver's Carson Soucy will have a hearing for cross-checking Edmonton's Connor McDavid. Date and time TBD.
The Canucks enter Game 4 at Rogers Place in Edmonton with a 2-1 series lead, backed by the stellar performance of rookie Arturs Silovs, who made 42 saves in the victory. The team continues to patiently wait for the potential return of Thatcher Demko, though Silovs has made the absence of their Vezina Trophy-nominated starting netminder much less of a burden on Canucks fans.
The Canucks will look to jump out to a commanding 3-1 series lead in Game 4 before heading back to Rogers Arena for Game 5.
