The Ontario Hockey League has made a statement featuring Vancouver Canucks prospect Josh Bloom.

The season is now over for the Ontario Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey League, with Bloom and the Saginaw Spirit winning their first Memorial Cup in franchise history. On Tuesday, the OHL made a post celebrating the team's overage players including Vancouver Canucks prospect Josh Bloom.

"Going out on top as #MemorialCup champions! 🏆

Welcoming @SpiritHockey's Josh Bloom, Alex Christopoulos and Braden Haché to the #OHLAlumni 🎓" The OHL said in a post on X.

Bloom, 20, appeared in 223 games over the course of his career in the Ontario Hockey League with the Saginaw Spirit and North Bay Battalion. In those 223 games, Bloom put up 186 points (51 goals, 101 assists), 111 penalty minutes and was a plus-19.

The Oakville, Ontario native played a crucial role in the 2024 Memorial Cup Final against the London Knights, scoring the championship-clinching goal with less than 30 seconds remaining in the third period.

"JOSH BLOOM WITH THE BIGGEST GOAL IN @SPIRITHOCKEY HISTORY ❕ #MemorialCup"

It'll be interesting to see where Josh Bloom begins the 2024-25 season this fall. Last season, played in both the AHL with Abbotsford and ECHL with Kalamazoo, before the Canucks decided it was best for his development to assign him back to the Ontario Hockey League.
