There had been some speculation around the Canucks and their superstar Swede Elias Pettersson. Following his under-par performance during the first round, many wondered if Pettersson had been playing through an injury.

It was just announced that the Swede was absent from the team's practice before their first second-round game against the Oilers. According to the team's sources, Pettersson is feeling under the weather:

NHL teams have been known to use strategems to mislead their opponents, could it be the case for the Canucks and Elias Pettersson? Knowing the team's track record with injuries, it wouldn't come as a surprise if it was the case.

Nevertheless, we only hope Pettey feels under the weather with nothing too serious. As the Canucks prepare to take on two of the world's best hockey players, Tocchet is going to need every tool in his box, and Pettey is a big part of it.

With a production showing only a mere shadow of his capacities, he had three assists in three games against the Predators. We're hoping to see the player named amongst the NHL's Star of the Month and the one who scored 102 points last year.
