Tocchet brutally honest in post-game interview following game in Vegas
The Vancouver Canucks were defeated by a convincing score of 6-3 at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night. Quinn Hughes scored twice, and Nike Hoglander added a goal in the loss. The Canucks hold a modest 5-4-1 record over their past ten games as the playoffs rapidly approach.
In his postgame press conference, head coach Rick Tocchet emphasized the team's lack of drive, effort, and physicality. He was disappointed with his team's "light" play and stressed the importance of carrying strong play into the playoffs. Notably, he did not enter the dressing room following the loss and let the players speak amongst themselves.
We've got to regroup tomorrow, we've got to get these guys energized against Arizona.
The Canucks, with an even 100 points and having already clinched a playoff spot, hold a five-point lead over the Edmonton Oilers for first place in the Pacific Division, though Edmonton holds two games in hand.
