We're officially one month away from the National Hockey League's trade deadline and even though the Vancouver Canucks have added a top-four defenseman already, they could be in line to bring another to BC.

Last Friday, the Vancouver Canucks finally addressed a pressing need acquiring Marcus Pettersson from the Pittsburgh Penguins and now, Patrik Allvin appears to have his eyes on another top-four defenseman.

On Friday, Jim Biringer of RG.org said that a source has informed them the New York Islanders have made former first-round round pick Noah Dobson available for trade ahead of the March 7th deadline.
"He is available for trade, and that is a piece the team is willing to part with in order to get that scoring presence they have wanted for three seasons," a source said to Biringer.

The New York Islanders have interest in Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, according to Stefan Rosner of The Hockey News, who believes a package could see the Vancouver Canucks acquire Noah Dobson.
A source reportedly told RG.org that if a there was trade between the two teams involving Elias Pettersson and Noah Dobson, that it wouldn't just include the blueliner as more players would need to be heading Vancouver's way to make the money work.
"It would not just be Dobson in the deal," a source indicated to RG.org. "There would have to be more money in terms of players going back to Vancouver for the $11.6 million to balance out. The Canucks might have to retain the deal too."

Elias Pettersson has struggled this season and while the team was testing the trade market back in January prior to the J.T. Miller deal, they've opted to take him off the block, for now.
If Patrik Allvin is able to swing a deal for Noah Dobson, it would give Vancouver one of the best top-four defensive groups in the National Hockey League, with him joining Quinn Hughes, Filip Hronek and Marcus Pettersson.
Given how that we've seen blockbuster trades on back-to-back Fridays, perhaps the Vancouver Canucks and Patrik Allvin can swing another one today.
