With the end of the Vancouver Canucks' season coming following their Game 7 loss to the Edmonton Oilers, upcoming free agent defenseman Tyler Myers has touched on the possibility of returning to the Canucks in his exit interviews. The towering rearguard has been a staple among the team's blue line for several seasons.
Myers, the 2010 Calder Trophy winner as the league's top rookie, is on an expiring contract. Following an extremely encouraging turnaround season for Vancouver, it appears as though he is incredibly eager to return and loves what the team has built this past season.
He notably called the fan base «amazing», and seems adamant on sticking with the team should the contract negotiations work out for both parties. The team recently committed a large amount of cap space to Elias Pettersson as he finally signed a long-term contract extension.
Myers has been a valuable piece to the Canucks' defensive corps and has given the team hundreds of games of service, and will look to hopefully add more as he evidently wishes for a reunion.
