Vancouver Canucks Fans Advised to Brace for Disruptions due to Taylor Swift Taking Over Vancouver
Vancouver Canucks fans who plan to attend tonight and Sunday's games have been advised to expect disruptions due to Taylor Swift concerts at BC Place.
It's going to be quite the busy weekend in downtown Vancouver with not only the Canucks returning home from a six-game road trip, but superstar artist Taylor Swift is in town for three shows to wrap up her 'Eras Tour'.
The Canucks are set to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight at 7 pm PT and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday afternoon at 1 pm PT, with the team putting out a statement regarding how hectic it could be in the area surrounding Rogers Arena.
Fans told to brace for disruptions due to Taylor Swift concerts
Through a press release on social media, the Vancouver Canucks advised fans that are attending either game this weekend that Pacific Boulevard will be closed between 12pm and 12am starting today and going through Sunday.
The team also tells fans to give yourself extra time when getting to the area due to the crowds and if possible, take public transit as parking will be quite limited.
"As we prepare for an exciting weekend of hockey as your Vancouver Canucks host the Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning, our neighbours at BC Place will be hosting Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour.
This will cause disruptions to parking and arena access, as Pacific Boulevard will be closed each day from Friday December 6th through Sunday, December 8th between 12:00pm-12:00am. To make it as easy as possible for you to get to Rogers Arena:
Please take public transit as parking in the area will be extremely limited.
Give yourself extra time to arrive and navigate the crowds in downtown Vancouver.
We look forward to welcoming you to Rogers Arena for an exciting weekend of Canucks action." the Canucks said.
It should be an exciting weekend for the city of Vancouver and a major economic boost with Taylor Swift in town and the Canucks back for a pair of games. Hotels, restaurants and shopping centers will certainly be busy places over the next three days.
