Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko has revealed a new mask that fans are loving the look of.

Finally back healthy with the team, the star goaltender showed off a newly designed mask at Sunday's practice that will be paired with the team's Black Skate jerseys.

The new mask prominently features a skull on the front of the mask as well as all over one side, but on the other side pays tribute to Demko's current home city of Vancouver, utilizing the East Vancouver cross monument as part of the design.

The monument was created by artist Ken Lum, who said the "East Van Cross" has been adopted as a symbol for the area, but the artist wanted to make the symbol more tangible and "overt" - hence the 57 foot sign that lights up at night.

The Canucks goaltender seems to enjoy showcasing new mask designs, debuting more than a few masks this season, including one that pays homage to franchise legends, and a collaboration with Apple on a zombie themed mask earlier this season.

New mask set to be seen frequently

The Vancouver Canucks decided to wear their Black Skate jerseys much more frequently this season, given how much fans seem to enjoy the style.

Given that, we could see this new mask in game action on many occasions this season.

With Demko set to start in tonight's game against the San Jose Sharks, we will likely see the mask in game action for the first time.
