Vancouver Canucks and Team Sweden forward Elias Pettersson speaks to the media ahead of 4 Nations Face-Off tournament and shows frustration regarding constant questions and criticism.

To put it lightly, Vancouver Canucks star forward Elias Pettersson has been a pretty big disappointment this season, especially for making $11.6 million, but hopefully this break during the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament will be a much needed change of pace for 26-year-old.
One thing that was revealed by his agent Pat Brisson is that he has been dealing with a nagging injury since last offseason, which could be the main reason why he is not looking like himself on the ice.

Elias Pettersson frustrated with the Vancouver Canucks media

Elias Pettersson knows that he he has not playing well enough this year, but is looking forward to playing in the inaugural best on best tournament to change up the pace of the year.
«It's exciting, something I've been looking forward to represent Sweden. Me personally, I've never played a best-on-best tournament, so very exciting."
«It hasn't been my best season, but that's in the past,» Pettersson told reporters in Montreal. «I'm just trying to look ahead. I'm very excited for [this tournament].»

Scoring just 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points in 49 games this season, the standard has been far below the expectations, but he is far more frustrated with the media than he is with his own play.
Has this been the most frustrating season of his career?

«With the media, of course,» he quipped.

Clearly, he is annoyed that the media plays a major role in making the story a lot bigger than it has too, but at the end of the day, if he wants people to stop talking about his relationships and poor performance, all he has to do it play better and give them a reason not to.
Hopefully this break is exactly what he needs to find his game again and be the player all Vancouver Canucks fans knows he capable of.
