The Vancouver Canucks have been playing some great hockey of late and because of that, they've taken a pretty big jump in a recent NHL power rankings list.

It's been quite some time since the Vancouver Canucks have been mentioned in a power rankings, with the last time NHL.com recognizing them being in early January where they came in at 16th on their Super 16 rankings.

Vancouver Canucks take massive jump in NHL power rankings

The Vancouver Canucks took on the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night for their final game before the 4 Nations Face-Off break and despite Thatcher Demko leaving with an injury, Rick Tocchet's group rallied behind Kevin Lankinen and came out with a big 2-1 win.
That win over the Toronto Maple Leafs gave the Vancouver Canucks their third straight victory, their sixth win in eight games and moved them three points clear of the Calgary Flames for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference.
Because of their play lately, the Vancouver Canucks have come in at number 14 on Daily Faceoff's NHL power rankings, a jump of seven spots when compared to the previous week.
"Selfishly, I'm mad that Quinn Hughes will miss a chance to play alongside his brother Jack at the 4 Nations tournament, partly because of what a special player he is, partly because when we call it «best on best,» it should be exactly that. But in the long run, we should credit the Canucks' captain for seeing the forest for the trees, knowing that he and his health will be the main reason Vancouver plays hockey beyond mid April. Also, in the four games he's missed, the team is 3-1-0. A healthy Canucks lineup could do some damage in the last quarter of the season." Hunter Crowther of Daily Faceoff said.

With the roll the Vancouver Canucks are on right now, the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off couldn't come at a worse time for Rick Tocchet's group and hopefully, they'll be able to continue their strong play once they return to NHL action in 11 days.
Once the break concludes, the Vancouver Canucks will head out on a five-game road trip where they'll make stops in Vegas (Feb. 22nd), Utah (Feb. 23rd), Los Angeles (Feb. 26th), Anaheim (Feb. 27th) and Seattle (Mar. 1st).
