Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin Looking to Land Anaheim Ducks Defenseman Cam Fowler?
The Vancouver Canucks are in desperate need of help when it comes to their blue line, and general manager Patrik Allvin may need too look at landing Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler.
It has been clear since the start of the 2024-2025 season that the Vancouver Canucks were thin of defense, and that a trade would need to be made to find an upgrade, but recent circumstances have been the situation more dire.
Even before The injury to first pairing d-man Filip Hronek came to be, the pressure to make changes to their defense has been a top priority if the Canycks want any chances of making a run at the Stanly Cup.
Last night, when the Nucks faced the St. Louis Blues, their defense got completely exposed in the loss and now the need for help has been amplified.
Vancouver Canucks looking at Anaheim Ducks defenseman Cam Fowler
All year long, there have been many names such as Marcus Pettersson, Mike Matheson and Rasmus Andersson that have been floating around that could be linked to the Vancouver Canucks, but nothing concrete has come to fruition.
The speculation has continued as the latest name linked to the Canucks is 33-year-old Anaheim Ducks D-Man cam Fowler.
The Canucks are in need of not just a solid defender, but someone who can effetely move the puck and help the offensive load so Quinn Highes doesn't have to carry the entire load.
Fowler's experience and term make him an intriguing option, though his $6.5 million cap hit and declining performance could deter interest unless Anaheim retains salary.
Fowler makes a great option for the Canucks if the salary can be worked out, he is having a down year on a less than average team.
If given a chance for a change of scenery, Fowler can find his game again, especially pairing up with Hughes until Hronek is back and then sliding down to man the second paring.
