Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet has announced his starting goaltender for both games this weekend including a big one tomorrow night against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Vancouver Canucks are the most crucial point of their 2024-25 season as they sit eight points back of the Minnesota Wild for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference with just seven games remaining.
Earlier today, the Vancouver Canucks announced the call up of Max Sasson from the AHL and now, we know who will get the start between the pipes for not only today's game against the Anaheim Ducks, but tomorrow's tilt with the Vegas Golden Knights as well.

Rick Tocchet announced starting netminder for Saturday & Sunday's games

Rick Tocchet met with the media less than three hours to go until puck drop where he announced his starting netminder for both today's game and tomorrow's game, as well as some other lineup notes.
Thatcher Demko will be in between the pipes today against the Anaheim Ducks, while Kevin Lankinen, who has been lights out this season, will start tomorrow against the much more tougher opponent, the Vegas Golden Knights.
Lankinen, 29, has a 24-14-9 record in 47 games this season for the Vancouver Canucks, along with a 2.66 goals against average, an .899 save percentage and four shutouts.
As for Thatcher Demko, who has dealt with injury issues this season, he's appeared in 21 games where he has a record of 8-8-3 with a 2.90 goals against average, an .888 save percentage and one shutout.
Tocchet also confirmed that Max Sasson will be in the lineup this afternoon in place of Nils Åman, who left practice early on Friday after going head-first into the boards.
Nils Höglander won't be in the lineup today, despite shedding his non-contact sweater on Friday, but there's a good chance he plays tomorrow.
As for veteran defenseman Tyler Myers, he is unlikely to play at all this weekend due to an undisclosed injury, with Rick Tocchet calling him day-to-day on Friday.
"Max Sasson will be in the lineup Saturday, says Rick Tocchet.

Demko Saturday, Lankinen Sunday.

Höglander is out Saturday, but «good chance» he'll be back Sunday. No Myers Saturday and doesn't sound like he's an option for Sunday." Thomas Drance of The Athletic shared on X.
Puck drop for today's game against the Anaheim Ducks is set for 1 pm PT on Sportsnet Pacific.
