After losing in a 4-1 blowout to Mikko Rantanen and the Dallas Stars on Sunday, the absence to Quinn Hughes is extremely apparent, and Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet provided a critical injury update today on his status.

Although dominant when he is with the team and healthy while making a case to win his second consecutive Norris Trophy, Quinn Hughes has had an up and down season when it comes to his health.
Hughes has been out since January 31st when he apparently suffered a injury against the Dallas Stars.

Hughes was able to play in one game after the conclusion of the 4 Nation Faceoff, where the Canucks faced the Los Angeles Kings on February 26th.
Since then, Hughes continues to be sidelined with an "undisclosed injury"
but head coach Rick Tocchet spoke to the media today to update the fan base when they can expect him back.
He told the media that the teams MVP is making great strides in returning and that if the team had a practice today he would have partaken fully.
Rick Tocchet said Quinn Hughes would have been at practice if the #Canucks had skated today. Says the captain is progressing.

He skated Sunday morning with the rehabbing Thatcher Demko (undisclosed injury). The prognosis for the blueliner's recovery from a «tweak» remains a day-to-day work in progress. We're told the ailment is not related to that Jan. 31 «lower-body» injury, which needs some clarity.

With a brutal loss last night against the Dallas Stars, the team desperately need him back if they want any chance at making the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
