Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin has finally done it and is only 1 goal away as he officially ties Wayne Gretzky's NHL goal record with his 894th goal of his career.

Coming into the Washington Capitals Matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks, all eyes around the NHL and hockey community are on Ovechkin as he was just 3 goals away from breaking one of, if not the hardest record in the NHL.
The Gr8 one wasted no time as he scored his 893rd goal just 4 minutes into the first period to put him just two away from breaking the record and 1 away from tying.
