HE IS AN EXCELLENT LEADER
Bruce Boudreau has been great for team morale and chemistry since he walked into the dressing room last season. He knows how to build teammate's relations with one another and has an attitude that sees the silver lining. He sees the strengths and weaknesses of his players and knows what to ask of them.
Bruce has always had a positive attitude but known when to keep it serious after losses. He's even instilled the tradition of the Canucks Championship Belt, awarded to the MVP when the Canuck's win a game. Specifically a hard fought game.
Remember when you all were cheering "Bruce there it is" at home games in Rogers Arena? Where is that love now that the team is down? The Vancouver Canucks fans are starting to sound more fickle than the WWE fans when their favourite wrestler turns heel. We're Canucks fans, we stay true to the green and blue through the good times and the bad.
At least we can appreciate that both the Coach and the General Manager say what's on their mind and can even be fairly blunt in their interviews, respectively. We've got an insight to how they're conducting business instead of leaving us in the dark with a list of excuses.
HE HAS A WINNING CAREER RECORD
GAMES-1057 WINS-603 LOSSES-326 OT LOSSES-128
The numbers don't lie. Teams with Bruce Boudreau at the helm win games. This season may be off to a rocky start but it could take one good week and the Canucks could be a spitting distance from the playoff race. Bruce is a proven coach in the NHL and should be strongly considered before being let go.
Changing the coach won't change the team. Firing the coach to send a message to your players is also an old-school mindset when today we need a modern solution. It's time to see the big picture and the team down to its core.
