All-class speech from Roberto Luongo
Roberto Luongo was in the Rogers Arena last night as the Canucks honoured his entry into the Hockey Hall of Fame alongside the Sedin Twins.
He gave a heartfelt speech and didn't care about what honour he'd been awarded.
"I know there's a lot of debate about the ring of honour and the flag, but that doesn't matter to me... What matters to me is moments like tonight and sharing it with you guys."
Before he could even begin to speak, the former netminder received a standing ovation from the crowd. He made sure to thank the fans that stood behind him for all of those years.
Luongo is still up to this day, the all-time franchise leader in wins and shutouts. He also has the top save percentage (0.919) and goals against average (2.36) for goaltenders that played over 100 games with the Nucks.
