BREAKING: Toronto Maple Leafs fined for $125,000
The NHL has decided to abide strictly by their Collective Bargaining Agreement and good for them.
According to these rules, teams are prohibited to conduct any mandatory teams events during the Christmas break, the Maple Leafs broke those rules and will therefore pay a hefty $100K fine.
''The NHL has fined the Toronto Maple Leafs for going to St. Louis on Dec. 26th. The League's Collective Bargaining Agreement states that from Dec. 23 to Dec. 26, there are to be no mandatory team activities," Chris Johnston, TSN.
As if it wasn't enough, it was announced per the League's public relations Twitter account that they've also fined Sheldon Keefe, Toronto's head coach for his demeaning conduct towards the games officials on December 27th.
A grand total of $125K towards the Maple Leafs. Definitely a costly mistake for Toronto.
