The St Louis Blues were home Thursday night in the Enterprise Center hosting the Vancouver Canucks. They looked liked they were going to win this one until the Canucks battled back, down 2-0 in the 3rd period to stun the Blues with 3 unanswered goals to win 3-2 in overtime off an Elias Pettersson goal.
This loss must have been the boiling point for St Louis Blues head coach Craig Berube who would absolutely trash his team, and more importantly his best players, calling them out in post game interviews:
"Our best players don't play with any passion emotion or no inspiration at all. They don't play inspired hockey. You can not play in the League without any emotion or grit or being inspired. They're getting paid a lot of money and they're not showing up, they're not doing the job. End of story that's it that's what it boils down to."
The Blues were aspiring to be a playoff team this season but just couldn't put wins together. They are currently 6th in the Central Division and have already traded stars Ryan O'Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko. Don't be surprised to see the Blues make some more changes ahead of the NHL's trade deadline.
