With less then two weeks to go before the NHL trade deadline the Vancouver Canucks made a huge announcement today.
The Canucks have made defenceman Luke Schenn a healthy scratch ahead of tonight's game between the Canucks and Nashville Predators due to trade reasons.
The Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has received plenty of calls on Schenn from numerous teams looking to contend for the Stanley Cup. The 33 year-old defenceman has won two Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning so he knows what it takes to win, and can help a team fill that void that type of defenceman.
It was reported earlier today by the insider Rick Dhaliwal, that the trade chatter had picked up around the former Stanley Cup winner. The Canucks had still not made a formal contract extension to the defenseman leading up to the belief that he was going to be traded and they have now confirmed that thought.
Can they fetch a good deal for the veteran?
