Dad caught going crazy on the referee after a U16 game
This year has been filled with parents misbehaviors in their child's sporting event and now a new one is up for contention.
This one happened in Almonte, Ontario and we sure hope the dad was reprimanded with the right offense. The abuse of officials that has been going on for the past few years as caused the current lack of referees we're having.
Nobody wants to stand there and get yelled at by some angry teenagers' parents, the teenagers themselves are enough to deal with. This spectator was filmed using derogatory language and is the definition of verbally assaulting someone :
Hockey Canada has already put up a code of conduct, but the results simply aren't there. It needs to be enforced big time. Time will tell us what will happen of this spectator, but the league needs to step in and take action against him. This is no way to treat a referee.
