LATEST | 15-year NHL Veteran placed on waivers
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a tough spot roster-wise and today they had to make a tough call to send a 15-year NHL vet on waivers.
Wayne Simmonds was sent to the waivers per TSN's Chris Johnston's annoucement.
Simmonds has slowed down quite a bit over the last few years. He's only taken parts in 13 games this season. The Leafs mainly keep him around for the experience and leadership he brings, it is doubtful he'll even report to the Marlies.
