Some sad news to report on in the hockey world on Monday as former CHL Import Draft pick and one of Great Britain's best young players, Alex Graham, has passed away at the age of 20.

Graham was selected with the 105th overall pick by the OHL's Niagara IceDogs in the 2021 CHL Import Draft. He signed with the team in September of that year, but never suited up for Niagara as they added another import player to their roster, that being Danil Gushchin. Graham left Niagara in November 2021, returning to England and playing for the Sheffield Steelers once again.

"The Steelers are devastated to advise that Alex Graham sadly passed away this weekend.

Everyone at the club is heartbroken by the news and wish to pass on our thoughts and condolences to Alex's family, friends and teammates.

It would be appreciated if Alex's family could be provided time and space to take in the enormity of this tragic situation in the days ahead." Graham's EIHL team, the Sheffield Steelers said in a statement.

During the 2022-23 season, Graham appeared in 15 games for the Steelers, recording five points (one goal, four assists), four penalty minutes and was a plus-five.

Our thoughts are with Graham's family and friends at this difficult time.
