LATEST | The next undrafted stud out of the WHL has been found: Can Patrik Allvin strike big once more?
Patrik Allvin and his scouting team came up big last year when they signed the undrafted stud out of the WHL, Arshdeep Bains. Many analysts surrounding the team have even identified the Surrey, BC. native as the next player to graduate to the NHL from Abbotsford.
It seems that Allvin and the Canucks are now presented with a similar opportunity since another forward has been lighting it up for the last two years in the WHL and he even took his game up a notch during the ongoing Memorial Cup in which his team is participating.
Kyle Crnkovic, one of the WHL's top forward over the last two years, is a feisty two-way winger that produced 162 points in his last 135 regular season games. He's been gathering lots of attention for a while now, but the show he put up for the Seattle Thunderbirds yesterday has him under the spotlight. The small format (5'07''forward scored three goals and his wicked wrist shot was on display:
Described as a player who does it all, with multiple scouting reports stating that the most impressive thing about his game was actually his defensive game. A player with elite-level defensive abilities and an elevated IQ is usually those whose games adapt better to the professional levels.
