The Canucks are not ringing the alarm bell yet but appear no closer to resigning Elias Pettersson past the halfway point of the season.
Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli was on Sekeres and Price on Wednesday, and he said the centre hadn't given any signals to his team, who is "over-eager" to sign him.
They're just being stiff-armed; they're not being strong-armed,
Seravalli said. He could make life easy for them regarding not just this deadline but also how this summer plays out.
Seravalli said he doesn't think the team has reason to be overly concerned, but Pettersson's lack of commitment complicates any plans the Canucks may make.
The insider said that if there's no long-term commitment from Pettersson by the draft, they need to consider trading him seriously.
