LATEST | The Canucks perfect trade target identified: An analyst has placed his bet
The Canucks have yet to confirm their place in the playoffs, but everything is trending in the right direction. On their way to their first appearance in the spring dance, Patrik Allvin intends on being aggressive to make key additions to the team, hoping that the Canucks can go all the way.
FORMER CANUCKS NOW ANALYST MAKES HIS WISH FOR ALLVIN
The former Canuck Frank Corrado has made the switch from player to analyst and pointed out who he saw as the Canucks ideal trade target if they intend on going all-in this year.
Corrado was on Sekeres and Price earlier and pointed out the Flames' soon-to-be free agent and top centerman,
Elias Lindholm;
.@frankcorrado22 on the #Canucks going all-in:
"It's subjective...you must look at every team's UFA list. One player jumps out at me & it's Elias Lindholm. You can go to Lotto Line full-time...I would be more open to that kind of move."
Adding a player of Lindholm's stature certainly changes how your team looks. Big, right-handed Swede gifted at both ends of the ice, he has every tool to charm Patrik Allvin.
He is a former 40-goal scorer taking a $4.85M annual salary home. Earlier in the season, the belief was that he could be asking for something as high as
Bo Horvat, but his slow start may cost him millions since he only has 29 points through 44 games this season.
An offer for Lindholm starts with a 1st Round Selection and possibly more if he opens up to the possibility of signing an extension before a transaction is completed. A forward group that looked like this would be gathering lots of attention entering the playoffs:
1. Miller - Pettersson - Boeser
2. Mikheyev - Lindholm - Kuzmenko
3. Joshua - Blueger - Garland
4. Hoglander - Suter - Lafferty
This 12-man unit represents one of the hottest top first lines and one of the hottest third lines in the game. This looks like a contender. But will Allvin be ready to pay the hefty price tag that comes with the right-handed Swede centerman?
