According to PostMedia, Reynolds and the Remington Group have a $1 billion USD bid in the works to purchase the Ottawa Senators as well as their current arena, Canadian Tire Centre.
PostMedia added that the current owners of the Senators, the Melynk family, has set a deadline of May 15th for final bids to be submitted and that Reynolds & the Remington Group would like to get the deal done as soon as possible.
Apart of their bid, Reynolds and the Remington Group have committed to building a new arena in Downtown Ottawa, which will be surrounded by an entertainment district and are wanting to be heavily involved in the community.
If the bid is successful, this won't be Reynolds' first rodeo when it comes to professional sports ownership. In 2021, Reynolds, alongside fellow actor Rob McElhenney purchased Welsh soccer club Wrexham AFC, which was featured in the FX documentary series, 'Welcome to Wrexham'.
