Pettersson's asked to determine whether J.T. Miller is a grumpy gus or a big ol' softy and his response says it all
The Canucks provided a fantastic effort at home last night when they managed a 6-2 win against the Flyers. Elias Pettersson was once again incredible with nothing less than a third 5-point game this year.
After an outstanding performance, Pettey was summoned to the press gallery where he represented the team on ''After Hours''. Tons of rumors have been circulating since the beginning about J.T. Miller's behavior in the locker room and what his teammates thought of him. It's also been rumored that Pettersson and Miller had different opinions on many stakes and yet today Elias delivered and denied everything on the Canucks' #9.
He was asked about J.T. Miller off-ice, whether he was a grumpy gus or a big ol' softy and Pettersson's response says it all:
"It's a mix of both, he's a great teammate. Obviously, there are people that, want to... 'shit' on a player... I don't know if that's the right word... he only cares about winning."
It's the second time Pettersson is asked to reveal his thoughts on the relationship he holds with J.T. Miller. For the second time on as many occasions, he had nothing but great words for the man who's been the most productive forward for the past 4 years in Vancouver. Bruce Boudreau also shared a similar point of view.
Perhaps J.T. Miller isn't future captain material, but he surely is a major component of this team's function and leadership group. Though with the way Pettersson has handled himself as of late, does he really need to prove more in order to prove that he's the rightful successor to Bo Horvat?
