ROSTER MOVE: Canucks recall AHL defenceman of the week
The Abbotsford Canucks have something to celebrate this week. Christian Wolanin has won defenceman of the week for the AHL club.
Wolanin recorded 9 assists and 1 goal in 4 games last week for the honor. He first got 3 assists on Tuesday taking on Bakersfield, a goal and an assist the following game, an assist in the third game and tied a team record with 4 assists on Sunday.
The canadian-born defenceman signed as a free agent with the Canucks this past offseason. He now has four goals and twenty assists for twenty four points in twenty game this season for the baby Nucks.
BREAKING: This has apparently not gone unnoticed by the parent club, general manager Patrik Allvin making a few moves today.
The 27-year-old defenceman, originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators, has also played for the L.A. Kings and Buffalo Sabres. He might hopefully crack the lineup given his recent success.
