The Detroit Red Wings are hosting the Washington Capitals tonight in Little Ceasars Arena, in a game that both teams desperately need to win with all points being more important at this time of the season.
In the second period of this game the momentum the Red Wings were playing with died off a bit when Red Wings captain
Dylan Larkin would get penalized for cross checking Capitals forward
T.J. Oshie.
From the footage, it didn't look like Larkin intended to cross-check Oshie more just of split second thinking, but Larkin was given a game misconduct and a five- minute major on the play.
Larkin didn't look to happy obviously, but from the footage I think it clearly was a accident. We don't know if Larkin will receive any other punishment from the NHL Department of Player Safety but they will likely take a look at the footage and judge for themselves.
