The Canucks should trade their veteran defenseman according to analyst
Luke Schenn has probably been this year's revelation on the Canucks back end.
Since the season started he's taken loads of time by Quinn Hughes' side. Although it's not the best match for Hughes' skill level, he's done a pretty decent job.
Matt Sekeres spent time in his latest podcast on the defenseman case:
"He's like a Black Friday sale, teams are lining up waiting for the Canucks to open business on Luke Schenn."
A right-handed defenseman, at a cheap $0.850M contract and built for long playoffs run, is certainly gathering loads of interest around the league.
"The Canucks have a very desirable asset that they can sell high and they absolutely should."
Teams recently payed high picks to acquire these players. A comparable could be the Brett Kulak trade last year, which gave a 2nd and 7th round pick to the Habs. Canucks would still have the opportunity to sign if he hits free agency comes July 1st.
