WHL Coach suspended for violating league policies
News from the WHL is that the head coach of the Wenatchee Wild, Kevin Constantine, has been suspended with a pending investigation into potential policy violations.
Constantine, who was hired on July 13th, 2023, to be the head coach of the Wild, is to have no contact with the organization and players as the investigation is on.
The 64-year-old has been a coach since 1985-86. He was head coach of the Sharks, Flames, Penguins, and Devils. His NHL coaching career ended in the 2001-02 season. He then coached three teams across three different leagues. In 2017, Constantine took a break from coaching.
Last season, Constantine returned, coaching with the Szekeshfehervar Alba Volan HC of the Austrian league. This would lead him to the opportunity to coach the Wild.
The WHL and Wild have met and will determine the next steps for the team and Constantine. The WHL will release a statement when things are finalized.
Let's not forget that there is precedent:
