The 31-year-old Campbell was an excellent junior player who represented Canada twice in the IIHF World Junior Championships and once in the IIHF World Championship. Campbell also attended Cornell University, scoring 100 points in 131 games.
Campbell also played three professional seasons. The 5'5 forward played for the Calgary Inferno from the 2014-15 season to the 2016-17 season. In Calgary, she recorded 50 points in 63 games. She would finish her Pro career in Sweden.
Campbell transitioned into coaching as a skating coach in Sweden. In the 2021�22 season. She worked in Germany as a skills coach before being promoted to assistant coach of the Nürnberg Ice Tigers.
Campbell also joined Toni Soderholm and team Germany as assistant coaches in the 2022 World Junior Championship, becoming the first woman to coach in the tournament.
Last season, Campbell was named the assistant of Seattle's Farm team, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Campbell continues her trailblazing coaching career as she will return as assistant coach to Coachella Valley, and tonight, she becomes the first woman to be behind the bench at an NHL game.
