According to the insider, the Blue Jackets could potentially fetch a similar return to what the Habs received in return of Ben Chiarot at last year's deadline. Chiarot went from Montreal to Florida in return of a 1st round pick, a B prospect and a 4th round pick.
Gavrikov carries a $2.8M AAV until the end of the current season. He registered 9 points through 33 games and a -3 differential. Trading him for that much, would definitely mean a big win for the Blue Jackets who have plenty of defenseman in their depth chart to replace him.
Moving to the Canucks, they have a similar trade asset in Luke Schenn. A stay-at-home physical defenseman that'll be a UFA by the end of the current season. Schenn has similar stats, could he fetch a similar return for the Canucks? For that much done consider him as good as gone?
