A tragic accident struck the NHL, the hockey world and most importantly the Gaudreau's late last night.

Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau were biking last night when a drunk driver made a reckless manoeuvre and killed both men.

Sean Higgins, the drunk driver responsible for the tragic deaths of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, displayed a shocking lack of remorse during his initial video court appearance. This devastating incident has gripped the NHL and beyond, as Columbus Blue Jackets star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother were struck and killed by Higgins while they were cycling the day before their sister's wedding. The entire hockey community is mourning the loss, and the lack of remorse shown by Higgins in court has only added to the heartbreak surrounding this tragedy.

Higgins admitted to consuming alcohol before the tragic incident that took the lives of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. Reports indicate that an open alcohol container was found in his vehicle when police apprehended him. Higgins showed a startling lack of remorse during his video court appearance on Friday. Rather than acknowledging the gravity of his actions, he appeared more inconvenienced by the fact that he would be detained until at least Thursday of the following week. His demeanour suggested little to no awareness of the devastating impact of his actions.

Fans across the NHL are outraged after viewing the video of Higgins' court appearance. Many express disbelief at his apparent lack of empathy for the victims and their families. The reaction to the clip has been overwhelmingly negative, with most fans stunned by his indifferent demeanour.

As more details emerge, there is a growing sentiment among the public, myself included, that Higgins should remain in custody and not be released next week. The concern is widespread, reflecting this tragedy's profound impact on the hockey community and beyond.
