But the recent announcement has made it clear that he will be making another push to make it back to the NHL.
The defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers did not waste anytime in showing their interest as they signed the 26-year-old to a professional tryout (PTO).
More specifically, he signed a PTO with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Charlotte Checkers.
