The Vancouver Canucks have been playing quite well of late and part of that is due to Thatcher Demko, who's been rock solid for the club in the last week.

Thatcher Demko was on a roll for Vancouver, before before an injury forced him to leave Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but thankfully, it's not expected to be serious.

Vancouver Canucks' Thatcher Demko honored by National Hockey League

Prior to leaving Saturday's game against Toronto, Thatcher Demko had been playing lights out for the Vancouver Canucks and that didn't go unrecognized as he earned an honor from the National Hockey League today.
On Monday, the National Hockey League announced that Thatcher Demko has been named their second star of the week for February 3rd to the 9th, while Tampa Bay's Brandon Hagel was named first star and Florida's Matthew Tkachuk is the third star.
"Brandon Hagel (@TBLightning), Thatcher Demko (@Canucks) and Matthew Tkachuk (@FlaPanthers) have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" presented by GEICO for the week ending Feb. 9." the NHL said.

In that span, Demko had two wins - against the Colorado Avalanche and San Jose Sharks - a 0.46 goals against average, a .985 save percentage and one shutout.
"Demko stopped 64 of the 65 shots he faced across three appearances, going 2-0-0 with a 0.46 goals-against average, .985 save percentage and one shutout as the Canucks (26-18-11, 63 points) moved into the final playoff spot in the Western Conference via a perfect week. He earned his ninth career shutout and first of 2024-25 with 25 saves in a 3-0 victory against the Colorado Avalanche Feb. 4. Demko then turned aside 33 shots, including a combined 17 in the third period and overtime, in a 2-1 triumph versus the San Jose Sharks Feb. 6. The 29-year-old Demko, who denied all six shots he saw before exiting Vancouver's 2-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Feb. 8, owns a 6-6-3 record, 2.87 goals-against average and .891 save percentage through 17 total contests this season." The National Hockey League said in a statement.
"Wall of a week for DEMK🚫

Thatcher Demko is this week's @NHL Second Star! #AllTogetherAllIn" the Canucks said.
Demko, 29, has had a difficult last ten months after suffering injuries to his knee, one of which came during their first game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and it took him to recover before finally making his 2024-25 season debut on December 10th against the St. Louis Blues.
With the Vancouver Canucks not playing again for 12 days due to the 4 Nations Face-Off, hopefully that'll give Thatcher Demko enough time to recover and be ready to go for February 22nd's game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
