The National Hockey League's trade deadline is less than a month away and one insider has shared a pretty big update regarding Elias Pettersson's availability.
Insider shares update on Elias Pettersson's availability on the NHL trade market
With J.T. Miller traded away and the feud between the two players no longer a distraction for the organization, the Vancouver Canucks are hoping that Elias Pettersson can push forward and return to being at the top of game.
Elias Pettersson also won't have to worry about the possibility of being moved as according to Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects, sources have told him that the Vancouver Canucks have pulled him off the trade market.
"The 4 Nations break won't prohibit teams from making trades, but sources indicate that the Canucks have officially pulled Elias Pettersson off of the trade market." Robinson said in a post on X.
In five games since the trade, Pettersson has recorded two assists, six shots on net and has an even-rating, with Saturday's tilt against the Toronto Maple Leafs being arguably his best game in quite some time.
"I could tell early on he was into it. Making that pass (on Hronek's goal) helps him." Tocchet said.
The Vancouver Canucks may be off for the next 12 days, but Elias Pettersson is set to play a big role for Sweden at the 4 Nations Face-Off starting on Wednesday against Canada.
Everyone is hoping that Elias Pettersson has a big tournament offensively for Sweden and that when he returns to Vancouver, his confidence will be sky-high and he'll be able to produce more for the Canucks.
