Patrik Allvin will look at different options as we get closer to Friday's trade deadline. With his main objective being the addition of a top-six winger, he still has the idea of improving his defensive corps.

HURRICANES GIVING DEFENSEMAN FOR FREE?

It caused a shock when Frank Seravalli announced on X that the Carolina Hurricanes were currently shopping Anthony DeAngelo at a meager price.

The asking price has been set at a 5th Round Draft Selection, and they've even offered to retain 50% of his cap hit:

As teams continue to scour the market for right-shot defensemen, it sounds like #Canes have set the ask at a 5th-round pick for Tony DeAngelo and will retain 50 percent to make it happen ($837,500).

It's been a tough year, and they're willing to grant a change of scenery.

A defenseman who excels at moving the puck, the 28-year-old will be a UFA by the end of the season. This year, he managed 10 points through 27 games, but he's shown the full extent of his talent in past years, notably when he collected 51 points in 64 games with the Hurricanes a few years back.
