MAJOR | OHL team under investigation for serious matter
The OHL is investigating claims involving the Sudbury Wolves matchup with the Barrie Colts on January 18th, about which a bounty was allegedly placed on a Barrie defenseman.
Kashan Aitcheson delivered a body check on Wolves player Nathan Villeneuve during the game, which later resulted in Aitcheson fighting the Wolves' Nolan Collins. The teams met again just three days later, though Aitcheson was notably scratched.
Jeff Marek reported that this was due to a potential bounty being put on the Colts' Aitcheson, so the team decided not to play him. Villeneuve, the recipient of the initial check, also did not suit up but would return from injury a shortly after for the Top Prospects Game in Moncton, New Brunswick.
The teams will meet yet again on February 28th.
