The National Hockey League is in a great place financially ahead into the summer, which means we're set to finally see some major jumps in the salary cap.

Earlier this month, it was reported by NHL agent Allan Walsh that the league's salary cap was set for a significant rise in the coming years and now we know what that'll look like.

NHL's salary cap to take $25.5 million USD jump over the next three seasons

Teams around the National Hockey League have been anxiously waiting to hear what the salary cap will look like for next season as they prepare for contract negotiations with pending UFAs and RFAs.
On Friday morning, TSN's Chris Johnston shared that the National Hockey League and the Players Association are expecting the salary cap to go to $95.5 million next season, $104 million in 2026-27 and $113.5 million in 2027-28.
"The NHL and NHLPA are forecasting significant salary cap bumps on the current $88M ceiling in the coming years. It's a great time to be hitting free agency.

2025-26: $95.5M
2026-27: $104M
2027-28: $113.5M" Johnston said in a post on X.
This move is going to benefit the Vancouver Canucks in a big way, not only as they look to try and sign Brock Boeser, but also next summer when captain Quinn Hughes is eligible to sign a contract extension.
Quinn Hughes' new contract wouldn't kick in until the 2027-28 season and if he continues playing the way he has been, which is almost a guarantee, he could be looking at anywhere from $15-$18 million annually.
Not every team is going to be able or willing to spend to the cap every season, as Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported in Saturday Headlines last weekend, adding that some teams could even have an internal cap number that they're going to work with.
For teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens, who have owners with deep pockets, they'll benefit in a big way in the coming years and they could end up being the top landing spots for some premier free agents.
