An updated report by 'The Hockey News' has indicated that due to the Toronto Maple at a standoff with Mitch Marner on signing an extension, he is now being coined as the perfect replacement for J.T. Miller or Elias Pettersson.
Even though the Vancouver Canucks season has not completely slipped away just yet, Patrik Allvin has given the green light to many NHL clubs to pursue J.T. Miller for a tradein order to settle the drama, and they may have found a solution.

As stated, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Mitch Marner are a standoff when it comes to putting pen to paper on a contract extension, making leverage an issue for Brad Treliving.

The same issue goes for Patrik Allvin and the Vancouver Canucks when trying to deal Miller, as it has been harder to trade him than originally expected.
Per 'The Hockey News' there's a strong rumor going around that Marner can be dealt to the Canucks during the offseason in case an extension isn't signed.
Toronto can even decide to trade the superstar before the deadline to avoid losing him for nothing.
As it stands, both the Maple Leafs and Canucks would rather keep their stars in the team, but as the season rolls on, it is getting less and less likely.
Although different players in their own right, they both posses and insanely high offensive ceiling, but Miller does it making nearly $3million less per season.
The likely hood of this trade happening is low, but it poses an interesting comparison on what either player is worth in the trade market.
