In the trade that sent Riley Stillman to the Buffalo Sabres the Canucks retrieved a forward with tremendous potential. Third Round Draft pick from the 2021 Draft, Josh Bloom joined the Canucks, caused a surprise during camp and was good enough to stick around in the AHL for his 20-year-old season.

The forward couldn't find his game in Abbotsford and was ultimately sent down to Kalamazoo in hopes that he'd be finding his game, but it looks like he'll be given another opportunity to get his confidence back as he may be on the verge of getting traded.

Jeff Marek reported that Josh Bloom's rights could be going to Saginaw (OHL), the 2024 Memorial Cup Host. Meaning that the Canucks could be thinking about sending their 20-year-old down to Juniors for a golden opportunity:

'OHL - don't be surprised if Josh Bloom (VAN) ends up with the Saginaw Spirit.''

The author of 3 assists in a combined 14 AHL games and 8 ECHL games could use the opportunity down in the OHL to get his groove back. Bloom managed 71 points in 68 OHL games last year and an opportunity to be a dominant offensive force for his club can only help him.

With his pro experience he'll definitely be a core piece to Saginaw' strip to the Memorial Cup. If the trade comes to completion, he'll be joining a roster made of two top prospect for the 2024 NHL Draft in Zayne Parekh and Michael Miss.
