The Penguins have acquired forward Maxim Cajkovic from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenseman Will Butcher.
Cajkovic is signed through the 2023.24 season and his contract carries an average annual value of $925,000 at the NHL level.
Named to the NHL's All-Rookie Team when he entered the league, Butcher's career went sideways afterwards. A promising left handed shot puck moving Defenseman he rapidly fell off his team's depth charts and now plays in the AHL.
Cajkovic for his parts, has yet to make an impact. The forward spent the majority of his professional career in the East Coast Hockey League and as given the opportunity to play a few AHL games along there way.
