It's common knowledge that the Canucks are on the market for defensemen. Allvin is still looking for ways to navigate the cap and reward the players and the coaching staff with improvements on their d-core.

NATURAL TRADE PARTNER IN ARIZONA?

Among the only teams in the NHL with a certain amount of cap space and perhaps a need for expiring deals, the Coyotes emerged as natural trade partners for the Canucks.

Anthony Beauvilier and Tyler Myers' names have constantly ben brought up in trade rumours and this proposal sends both of them to the Coyotes:

TO VANCOUVER

- Matt Dumba
- Troy Stetcher

TO ARIZONA

- Tyler Myers (20% retention)
- Anthony Beauvilier

Trading Beauvilier, would open up a roster spot for one of the Canucks younger forward and possibly provide Nils Hoglander a better opportunity to prove himself. For Myers, everybody knows it's only a matter of time before he's on the plane. One of the heftiest contract on the Canucks' book, if they intend on moving pieces and find some wiggle room, his contract has to go.

The Canucks would wind up freeing up $3.95M on their salary cap until the end of the 2023-2024 season. Dumba and Stetcher are both on expiring deals, Dumba would definitely a welcome veteran addition while Stetcher could slot in as a solide 7th or 8th Defenseman.
